I listened to both pieces: Foxdrop holds the road even if sounds are not terrible; Miles also is good, with better sounds. But both are a bit repetitive at the end, even if Miles is a little better harmonically (but less ambitious for the requested orchestra). I know that in any case the quality of samples is not as much important in the compo, therefore it's difficult to say... I would write an answer on your forum. Is there any other competitors?

Sure, but competitors were less interesting, or not really "on the line".

For me, Foxdrop (listen all songs clicking on Radio MusHar, up there, or download this one here ) is a kind of mint candy, which results surely from a little "keyboarding improvisation". Sounds are not at the top, but it is cool and energetic, just a charming old-fashioned tea-dance on the Thames. That's the composer's choice. Harmony is simple, we might have just suggested some modulation (the song begin in C major, then transposes to G major, that's all! :-/ ) but melody and especially orchestration do carry this piece along. Its reminds me some titles by Mancini, pink panther songwriter, doesn't it?

As for " Miles was in the box " (lucky man to stay in a music box, download it here!) it's a trip-hop style piece, very different, but I still love it! Drums begins right away with a groovy mood soul music, going on with a solo from Miles… wow! you are on the spot! Trumpet and guitars solos alternate, a bit repetitive, perhaps, but isn't it this musical style? Sound is good and accurate as well. If you 'd like to haggle, you would say that trumpet attacks may be very sharp to be absolutely honest; stereo is enlarged and not absolutely to my taste, but it not really an issue. On the whole, it is great!

All that is to listen absolutely, even if you are not Zidane, even if you are not three billions to listen to radio MusHar (right above) or to download free music from our guests in our Salon de musique, our composers web site (go there and don't forget to switch to English language!). And if you want to know more about it, have a look to the forum.
And let us not forget, music softens everyday life!
